She came to Denmark as a horse trainer, then founded a theatre company: “I did it for the internationals who couldn’t find a way into the Danish theatre”

After relocating from the United States, she discovered many experienced singers struggling to find work due to language barriers. By reshaping the casting process and building productions around performers’ strengths, she created new opportunities for international artists on Copenhagen stages.

“I knew a lot of people with great talents and experience, really skilled singers, who were bartending and working in hotels,” says Rachel Kador, 37-year-old co-founder of the Copenhagen Musical Theater Company. Born and raised in the United States, she moved to Denmark for love, thinking she would become a horse trainer. But fate had other plans when she started an English musical company.
